  • Confirmation is a public declaration of faith, when we take the promises that parents made at our baptism for ourselves; or for anyone who is baptized to receive the laying on of hands by the bishop. This can be for mature teenagers or adults.

  • Reaffirmation is for those already confirmed who wish to say again the promises they made perhaps many years ago at confirmation, maybe after a time away from faith or a sense of being in a new "spring season" of faith.

  • Reception is for those who were confirmed in another denomination eg Catholic or Lutheran churches and would like to make a formal statement of being part of the Anglican church.
